Premium niche fuel cell system integrator EnergyOr Technologies Inc. recently demonstrated its unmanned aircraft systems at the Defence Research & Development Canada (DRDC) Demonstration Day held at the Naval Electronics Test Range Atlantic (NESTRA) Facility
to mark the conclusion of the Unmanned Systems Canada Conference.
On display was the EnergyOr and DRDC collaborative WinDex hydrogen-powered fuel cell battery hybrid UAV. The unmanned aerial vehicle takes advantage of the power density EnergyOr €™s EPOD fuel cells offer as well as lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries to provide short bursts of power during take-off, climb and severe weather conditions. This beneficial symbiosis allows the UAV to have a flight endurance up to four times greater than that of a LiPo only solution. Original Source at FuelCellWorks.com
